Introduction

The New Energy Center has long engaged in the development and research in photovoltaic technology and green mobile technology as well as students training programs in these areas.

During 2005~2007, by executing the project “Research on the Integration of Renewable Energy Applications and the Talent Education”, we finished the integration of solar car systems and built solid foundation in planning solar system, modules efficiency test, car body structure analysis, as well as driving system of whole car.

During 2009~2011 by executing the project ”Development of the Future Light-weight Mini Electric Vehicle with Four Wheel Steering” we finished developing a light-weight car body, a 4 wheeling steering mechanism, and 4WS electrical control system.

During 2011~2012 while executing the project “Research and Development of Intelligent Electric Vehicles with Green Energy and Personnel Training Project”, with the existing engine dynamometer, motor dynamometer, and equipment of the Mechanical Engineering Department, we established a complete test lab for the performance of the vehicle power on the first floor and a fabricating and testing lab for PV modules on the third floor in the New Energy Building on our campus, which can serve as a platform for student training programs and industry cooperation activities.

Based on the existing photovoltaic technology and vehicle testing technology and to meet the demand of industry, we have been dedicated to develop various key technologies and test platforms, for example, to develop test technology for manufacture equipment, simulation and analysis of the stability of soldering machine?, and to establish a car repair platform. In the future, we will further engage in the research and development for energy technology, work intensively with the solar industry in the Tainan Science Park and green vehicle industry in the big Tainan area, and train up more excellent workforce.
